Northern Walleye Lodge is a remote boat-in housekeeping facility located on the shores of beautiful Dog Lake near Missanabie, Ontario. Dog Lake is home to Northern Walleye Lodge and some of Ontario’s best fishing for a variety of game fish.

Dog Lake features more species than most lakes. Fish grow to trophy sizes in these waters due to our southerly location and exist in large numbers due to our remote location. As a result of the limited fishing pressure the lodge boasts large numbers of Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Jumbo Perch, Whitefish, Burbot (Ling), Herring (Cisco) and Brook Trout.

Dog Lake features many miles of shoreline, shallow and deep areas as well as many weed beds which all contribute to a perfect environment for fishing. Dog Lake’s fresh water and it’s nutrients are carried down from the Lochalsh and Dog Rivers. Dog Lake forms the headwaters for the Michipicoten River to the south. This flow of water creates a perfect environment for a healthy population of fish.

Northern Walleye Lodge supports catch & release fishing and hope that our guests will comply so that everyone can continue to catch more and bigger fish every year.

The property consists of 21 +/- (approx.) acres of deeded land and one Land Use Permit from MNRF for an outpost cabin. The waterfront (approx. 2850’ +/-) is improved with 9 docks (4 floating & 5 cribbed) to service the lodge’s rental boat fleet. The waterfront also features a nice sandy beach in front of the lodge. There are many hiking & Atv trails nearby.

Infrastructure:

Island Cabin (Outpost) This is a one room cabin located approx. three quarters of a mile from the main lodge and is set up for housekeeping, woodstove and propane lights. Sleeps 5

Cabin #1 (Main Lodge property) is a log building with a screened-in porch. It is a 2 bedroom cottage with a combined living room/kitchen. It features a full size electric fridge, hot & cold running water and a propane mid-size stove and oven. Sleeps 6-7

Cabin #2 (Main Lodge property) is a log building with a screened-in porch. It is a 2 bedroom cottage with a combined living room/kitchen. It features a full size electric fridge, hot & cold running water and a propane mid-size stove and oven. Sleeps 6-7

Owners Cabin (Located beside main lodge) This building is 24’ X 40’. It was constructed in 2021 and is insulated. The exterior is pine and it has a one-bedroom owners quarters with a 4-pc washroom with sink, bathtub/shower and toilet.

Main Lodge This vertical log building features a camp store area, separate staff dining area, common area for the guests, office, storage section and a spare bedroom/storage room.

Additional Buildings: 2 lakeside sheds, 2 firewood sheds, fish cleaning station, generator shed and 1 other storage shed.

The lodge holds 2 bear management areas (BMA’s) and Moose tag allocations (2023 season – 1 bull tag, 2 cow tags and 2 calf tags). The water supplied to the main lodge is drawn from the lake and is treated with UV, water softener, water filtration & chlorination.

Northern Walleye Lodge features and extensive chattel list. The marine fleet is large and well-equipped.
