Duck Bay Lodge is on the west side of Hay Island which is in the southeastern portion of the lake. Hay island is approximately 600 acres in size with Duck Bay Lodge being the only known development on the entire island. Zoning is “C” commercial. Most people are familiar with the amazing Lake of the Woods. The lake is renowned for its size, beauty & world-class fishery. Lake of the Woods is approximately 109 kilometers long and 95 kilometers wide and hosts more than 105 thousand kilometers of shoreline including the islands. There are 14,500 islands on the lake. Fish species include Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout & Crappie.
Established in 1950, Duck Bay Lodge offers a premium full American Plan experience for their guests. The property is accessed by boat and by plane if so requested. For guests requiring a shuttle to the lodge and for transporting supplies and staff, the lodge owns a 22.5’ covered boat (10 person capacity) and is equipped with a 225 horsepower Mercury motor.
The property consists of approx., 3.42 acres (+/-) of pristine deeded land and approx., 1060’ (+/-) of shoreline. Water is supplied from the lake with a pump and cartridge filtration and UV sanitation system. The Sewage system utilizes lift stations and is discharged into two 1100 gallon septic tanks and into approx., 700’ of tile beds. Solid waste is pumped out annually.
The lodge currently employs between nine and eleven full time and part time staff.
All cabins, main lodge and other outbuildings have matching log siding, steel roofs, propane heat and 100 amp electrical services. All cabins feature electricity, flush toilets, open covered decks and hardwood floors.
Cabin #2: Small living room, two bedrooms with 1-3 piece and 1-2 piece baths, 5 single beds
Cabin #2b: Former owners cabin now utilized for staff.
Cabin #3 (420 square feet): Two bedrooms with a 3-piece bathroom. 1 queen & 2 single beds
Cabin #4 (476 square feet): : Two bedrooms, single bathroom and 6 single beds
Cabin #5 (352 square feet): : Open concept, 3 piece bathroom and 4 single beds

Owners Cabin: Recently constructed, this two-story log sided building consists of close to 1700 square feet of living space and is currently being used by the owner but will require some finishing touches.
Staff Cabin & Camp Laundry: This log sided 1 ½ storey building is approximately 18 years old. There is a main floor laundry room with multiple washers and a commercial dryer. There are 5 bedrooms for staff and two 3-piece bathrooms. There is approximately 1450 square feet of total space (848 sq. ft. main floor & 600 sq. ft. second floor)
Main Lodge: The main lodge houses the dining room, kitchen, supply room and ice machine and a washroom. The dining room is finished in pine with vaulted ceilings and sports a beautiful view of the lake. Additionally, there is a small sunroom area off the dining room with a set of garden doors leading to an outside deck. There is another dock on the west side of the dining room.
Recreation Hall (Approx., 650 sq. ft.): This separate building allows the guests to gather, hang out, play games and socialize. A satellite television is located here along with a foosball table, small bar and has front and rear decks for guest enjoyment.
Fish Cleaning House: Recently constructed, this 12’ X 12’ building is equipped with stainless steel counters and sink.
Generator Building: The building is 22’ X 10’ and is strategically located away from the other structures to minimize noise. Power is supplied from a 25kw Cummins generator and there is also a 12kw generator.
Additionally, there are two sheds and a sauna.
Docks: There are several dock sections servicing the property. The main dock measures 6 ½’ wide X 60’ with a 14’ X 17’ jog for the main loading area. Additionally, there are 4 other dock areas.
